About the editor
Valerie Hawkes is an independent treasury consultant who specialises in advising major corporates on strategic and organisational issues. She founded her own consultancy business in 1992 after working for seven years in treasury and financial consultancy firms. Before entering consultancy Valerie worked in the head office treasury department on BAT Industries plc. She is a member of The Association of Corporate Treasurers and is now vice chairman of the Editorial Committee.
